Medical Training Academy
This training is specifically designed for experienced professionals who have the responsibility for providing the medical evaluation for children whoa re suspected victims of child abuse.
Topics to be covered include: role of the medical provider; collaboration in the medical community; evaluation and diagnostic approach of child physical and sexual abuse; documentation and interpretation of findings; diagnotic dilemmas; the courtroom experience; use of technology, netowrking, telemedicine and multi-disciplinary team development.
Each participant will receive a folder of resource materials, continuing education credits, and will benefit from networking opportunities with colleagues from across the country.
Target Audience
This training is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs with advanced training, and physician's assistants who completed fewer than 300 exams and have less than 3 years of experience.
Length
Each MTA is three days. Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota designates this educational activity for category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award, for a total of 22 CME credits awarded at the end of this training.
Cost / Application Fee
Tuition (varies upon location) + $49 non-refundable application fee
Tuition in all locations include: training materials, breakfast, and lunch each day of training.
Tuition for training sessions held in Minnesota additionally includes: indvidual hotel room (3 nights)
All participants are responsible for transportation to and from the training and dinners.
