Brief Overview: Medical evaluations are an important part of a child sexual abuse investigation. It is important that all members of the Multidisciplinary Team understand the purpose of the medical evaluation and the role of the medical provider in the CAC. This course will provide an overview of the medical evaluation for non-medical team members.


Expert Presenter: Karen is a board certified child abuse pediatrician and is the Director of the Center for Children at Risk in Little Rock, AR. She was a major partner in establishing the local CAC. She entered private practice in 2000 and started volunteering as a medical provider in the community CAC in 2001. She works with educating nurses in the 13 surrounding CACs in AR. Karen is Faculty for Medical Training Academy. She works as an instructor and Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatrics, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR.
